Humanitarian Data Specialist | Migration Researcher | Geospatial Intelligence Analyst

About

I’m a humanitarian data analyst, geospatial intelligence specialist and migration researcher with experience working on projects spanning Europe, North Africa, Central Asia, and crisis-affected contexts. I focus on making complex data engaging and useful: whether that’s displacement tracking, labor migration research, conflict analysis, geospatial investigations, or mixed-methods studies.

My background

Right now, I run Charted Consulting, where I work with humanitarian organizations, private sector clients, and research teams to conduct data analysis (specializing in geospatial), conceptualize and implement studies, create maps and spatial data products, and design clear reports and visualizations.

Before consulting full-time, I spent nearly six years working for the International Organization for Migration, managing the data and research work for the Ukraine response in Poland as well as providing short-term support for both the regional response and initial in-country response in Ukraine. As part of the IOM headquarter-based GIS team from 2020-2022, I provided rapid mapping support for country missions and emergency responses globally. I’ve contributed GEOINT products, imagery analysis, and operational research to responses in Ukraine, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, and the Mediterranean, among others. In 2022, I deployed to Ukraine to help set up emergency displacement monitoring during the escalation.

Earlier on, I co-founded Averto, a crisis-mapping and early-warning platform used by over 20,000 people in Libya during the 2019 civil war. The app was recognized with several innovation awards and was used by civilians, humanitarians and security professionals alike during it's height.

I use ArcPro, QGIS, Power BI, Excel, Tableau, Illustrator, R, satellite imagery, drone imagery, survey tools (Kobo, ODK, Qualtrics), and OSINT methods, and I love creating products & visuals that help both technical and non-technical audiences understand a situation quickly.

I studied International Studies and Geography (GIS track) at the University of Oregon with minors in Political Science and Arabic. I’m currently completing an MS in Geospatial Intelligence at the University of Maryland (remote & part-time; expected graduation May 2026)
